Here's The Latest And Greatest:

Tuesday - January 30, 2017
Well, it looks like we all survived another year!  Thanks to all who came out to support us on New Year's Eve at the Texas Station in Gatesville.  We had a BLAST!  Thanks to our buddy, Dean, for providing such a cool place to ring in 2017.  Thanks to our good friends at the Sul Ross Dance Club and the Tours Dance Club for keeping us booked through the year.  Both groups stay on the dance floor and never fail to let us know how much they enjoy our music.  Thanks to Lorinda, her staff and all the good folks who come to see us at Bo's Barn in Temple.  Those folks know how to party!  Please know that we ONLY get to do what we love because all of you support us.  Thanks for helping us keep the music "LIVE" in Central Texas.  Please check out our SCHEDULE page to see when we'll be playing at a venue near you . . . and come out to see us!!  You'll be glad you did!

Remember to check out our SCHEDULE page for the latest and greatest dates we have on the books.  We'll play anyway, but it will be more fun if you're there!!

Be sure to visit our SONGLIST page. We've learned several new songs and some that are just "new to us".  We really work hard to make sure that there's something for everyone who comes out to hear us.

Don't forget, we're always interested in new places to play, so let us know if you hear or know of a club, dancehall or upcoming event in need of a quality band!  We can be reached on our "CONTACT INFO" page.

As always, thanks for keeping the music LIVE in Central Texas!!!

Thanks for all your support!!!

Saturday - June 18, 2016
Hot enough for you?  Just wait another month or too.  You ain't seen hot yet!!  We hope you're having a good 2016 so far.  This year has been a little slower for us than years past.  Not that we're complaining much.  Heck, most of us are moving a little slower than in years past.  Since our last comments here, we've made our 4th appearance at the Catkins Ball on 4/30 in San Saba, played in Lampasas twice and some smaller local jobs.  Most folks that hear us let us know how much they enjoyed themselves, so we must be doing something right.  Hope you'll come see us at a new venue (for us) in Gatesville called "Somewhere Else".  We make our debut on 7/8. Otherwise, you can catch us at Bo's Barn on 7/29, Sul Ross Community Center in Waco each month and at future venues as they're booked.  Check our Schedule page for other shows near you.  Come out & see us!

Thursday - February 11, 2016
New Year's has come and gone.  Looking forward to a great 2016!  Hope your New Year's resolutions include coming out to hear your favorite live band play this year.  After a pretty slow January, we have several things coming up.  The Cowboy Up Saloon is opening in the old "Cody's" location in Harker Heights.  Our first time there will be 3/4 and hopefully several more times through the year.  We'll be at the Backyard Bar Stage & Grill in Waco on 3/11 and will mark our 4th annual appearance at the Catkins Ball on 4/30 in San Saba.  Be sure to check our schedule page for other shows near you.  We hope 2016 is prosperous and rewarding for all.  Y'all come see us!

Monday - November 9, 2015

Just realized we haven't posted updates to this page in far too long.  We want to thank all of you for coming out to see us this year.  We really appreciate all your support.  We can only do this thing that we love if there are people who want to hear it.  We'll be posting new 2016 dates on the Schedule Page shortly, so check them out when you can.  You may have noticed that there are fewer and fewer places offering live music.  This year found us doing more private gigs than in years past.  We're happy that we had 'em!  One of our standing Holiday parties didn't book us this year, so if you know of a company party in need of quality "live entertainment", please send them our way.  We'll give 'em a good show!  To all the Dallas Cowboy fans out there . . . I feel your pain!  Come out to see us and we can cry in our beer . . . together!

Wednesday - February 4, 2015
OMG!  It's already 2015!  Actually, it HAS been for just over a month.  In that time, Green Bay stole the Divisional Playoff game from my Dallas Cowboys, Seattle stole the NFC Championship from Green Bay and New England stole the Super Bowl from them!  And who says there's no justice?

Branded Heart had a rather "LARGE TIME" ringing in the New Year at Bo's Barn in Temple.  Thanks to Lorinda and her great staff for making the night one for the ages.  Since then, we've kept a pretty low profile, only playing 4-times in January and not at all, so far, in February.  We'll be at the American Legion Hall in Gatesville on 2/20 and the Oasis Club in Brownwood on 2/21.  Check our Schedule page for more upcoming dates.  As I mentioned, we have several dates to fill through the rest of the year.  If you know of someone who is in need of quality Live Music Entertainment, send them our way.  We would appreciate the referral and promise to give 'em a good show!  As always, Branded Heart thanks you for helping us keep the music "LIVE" in Central Texas!

Monday - September 29, 2014
What's up with the Cookoffs this year?  We're sorry to report that the October 3rd Gatesville Prison Boss Cookoff has been canceled.  This follows the September 27th Pottsville BBQ Cookoff which was canceled last week.  We're disappointed that we won't be able to bring our Live Music "Mojo" to these events. We'll keep you posted as to any rescheduling news.

In better news, due to the 9/27 cancellation, I got to hear some live music in my hometown of Temple at the Food Truck Fest.  There were several performers, but my favorite was the lovely and talented, Jordan Valentin, who recently moved from Temple to the Austin area in pursuit of her musical dreams.  Check out her
website and YouTube video.  Her music might be described as an "Americana, Indie Rock & Folk" kind of thing.  Bottom line for me, it was "Live Music" and I always ask you to join me in supporting it.  While I'm on the subject, I h
ope you'll come see us at Bo's Barn on 10/10 and Sul Ross on 10/16.  We'll be there and the music will be "LIVE!"

Thursday - September 25, 2014
Looks like we survived another hot Texas summer.  Where does the time go?  I just realized that we haven't posted anything here since back in January.  Since then, we have picked up a few new places to play.  In April, we made our debut at the Oasis Club in Brownwood.  Great staff and lots of folks who really enjoy good "LIVE" Country Music.  In March, we returned to the Old Coupland Inn & Dancehall east of Austin (near Taylor).  This is one of the "gems" of live music venues in Texas.  Beautiful place with an awesome staff, roomy dance floor and big stage.  We're scheduled to be back there on October 17th and at the Oasis Club on October 25th.  Hope to see you there!

Thanks to our regular "peeps":  Larry & Barbara, Mike & Glenda, Sheila & Randy, the Perskys and a few others who come see us as often as possible!  We appreciate your support.  To our other friends and fans who we don't see as often:  we hope you'll come see us play sometime soon . . . and bring a few friends along.  We get to do this "live music thang" as long as people support it.  Hope to see you soon!!

Monday - January 6, 2014
It's a brand new year!!  Thanks to all of you who made 2013 such a great one for Branded Heart.  We had a great time ringing in the New Year with the fine folks at the K.C. Hall in West.  Thanks for coming out and supporting Live Country Music!!  Thanks, also, to Heather and Michael Guenat for having us play for their wedding dance on December 28th.  Our good friends Randy and Sheila Jones put us in touch with them.  Gotta love those weddings where everyone always has such a good time!!

As we begin 2014, we wish you good health, happiness and prosperity!  Come see us play sometime . . . and bring a few friends along.  We promise to give you a good show!!

Monday - October 21, 2013

Are you enjoying the cooler weather lately?  For many of you, this means being back in school, getting "ready for some football" and realizing that another year is coming to an end.  For musicians, it means fewer outside activities to keep you guys from coming out to support Live Music. Although our schedule is a little "leaner" than usual, we're still playing.  We had a good time at Bo's Barn this past Friday.  Thanks to our good friends Larry & Barbara for making the drive to Temple.  Thanks also, to the Persky's who always come out to hear us.

On a sad note, we and all our friends at the Sul Ross Dance Club were saddened to learn that Glynn Lightsey passed away on October 13th.  He was a big, gentle man who always had a ready smile and a kind word.  He was easy to spot in his "Branded Heart" shirt!!  He and his wife, Dorothy, always took such good care of us at our shows during the break.  We were blessed to have the chance to get to know him.

Monday - August 5, 2013

Can you smell that? . . . I think football is in the air!  Watched the Dallas Cowboys win their 1st game of the preseason last night.  It was over the pretty weak Miami Dolphins, but hey, a win is a win.  We've been keeping a low profile of late.  Not a lot of opportunities to play.  To make things worse, we've even had some jobs that were booked get canceled.  Most recently, our Oscar Store job on August 9th just got the axe.  As always, please check our schedule page before driving any distance.  In happier news, we'll be making our debut at
Kane's Ol' River Hideaway
in New Braunfels on Aug 17th.  Probably a long drive for most of our fans, but we wanted you to know.

Thanks to Ken and all the nice folks at the Sul Ross Dance Club in Waco for keeping us working regularly.  Always a fun time playing for them!  We hope you'll come out to see us at Bo's Barn on 8/16, the Melody Ranch on 8/23 and at the Exxon Station during the Westfest Parade on 8/31!!  Check our Schedule page to see where you can find us in the near future.  We miss you when you're not there.

Thursday - June 6, 2013

Wow, can you believe 2013 is almost half gone?  Where did the time go. We've taken a little time off, lately. It wasn't planned, sometimes the schedule just works out like that.  We hope you'll come out to see us at Bo's Barn on 6/14 and opening for Sammy Kershaw at Whiskey River on 6/15. We're going to be at
Malarkey's
in Bellmead on 6/29. It's our first time there, so we hope y'all come out and support us that night!!  Check our Schedule page to see where you can find us in the near future.  I promise, you'll hear "something" you like.

Monday - April 29, 2013

What beautiful Springtime weather we're having.  You know what that means ? . . . outside gigs.  Not too bad when the temperature is 72 degrees.  Not too good when it gets up around the 90's.  Oh well, we always seem to get through it.  Speaking of playing outside, we had a rather large time playing for the fine folks in San Saba at the annual Catkins Ball this weekend.  You couldn't throw a guitar pick without hitting a beautiful girl.  (Believe me, I tried).  Thanks to John & Katherine for booking us.  We really had an awesome time and hope to get to do it again next year.

In the meantime, look for us at Whiskey River, Sul Ross Center, Bo's Barn & the Oscar Store over the next few months.  We'll be the ones onstage making the music sound GOOD! Come see us!

Thursday - November 1, 2012

Howdy to all you Ghouls and Goblins. Hope your Halloween was fruitful.  Can you believe we're almost to the end of 2012? It looks like we have a couple of Christmas parties booked, so far. We might even see you at one of them.  If you know of someone looking for quality Holiday Entertainment, please direct them our way. Better yet, check our Schedule Page and bring them out to hear us.  Thanks for your support . . . and for keeping the music "LIVE" in Central Texas.

Monday - September 10, 2012

Wow, Summer's over . . . which means Football season has begun . . . which means "How 'bout them COWBOYS!!!  They looked good in their opener against the Giants.  Let's hope they can keep it up.  We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather as much as we are.  Hope you'll come out to see us and a host of other bands at the Oscar Store on Sept 15th.  It's a benefit for Ava Reid and the Young family who suffered a devastating fire at their home in Elm Mott earlier this year. Please come support this very worthy cause. We had a great time this past weekend at the Blue Moon Cafe in Deleon. You owe it to yourself to stop in and have a bite if you're passing thru. (Awesome Cheeseburgers!!).  It was great to see our good friends Don & Pat from our Proctor and Mingus days.  Mostly private stuff in September, but come out to see us next month at Bo's Barn in Temple, Whiskey River in Waco.  Don't forget to check our schedule to see when we're playing at a venue near you.

Thursday - August 2, 2012

Hey, everybody!  In case you're wonderin', we're still here.  We've taken some time off to enjoy this hot Texas weather.  Come out to see us this month at Bo's Barn, the Oscar Store and Buckaroo's in Temple and Geneva Hall in Elm Mott.  Don't forget to check our schedule to see when we're playing at a venue near you.

Monday - July 9, 2012

Well, our weekend didn't work out at all like we planned.  We were just about finished setting up our gear at the Oscar Store just outside of Temple when dark clouds blew in, accompanied by strong winds.  Unfortunately, the rain started and didn't let up. After waiting out the weather for more than an hour, the management decided to cancel the performance.  We were very disappointed, since the Oscar Store is one of the "more fun" places that we play.  As our Temple friends and fans know, the storm was so severe that our water service was affected due to equipment being damaged by lightning.  We'll be back at Oscar in August for those of you that need your Branded Heart "fix"!!

Friday - March 23, 2012

Hello, hello . . . is this thing on?  Calling all Central-Texas Live Music fans.  We want to make sure you know we're still alive and kicking . . . or "rockin'", as the case may be.  So far, 2012 has been a little slower than 2011.  Are any of you guys getting married anymore?  Or are you just living in sin?  So far we have almost 3-weddings for the year (one is still tentative).  Private functions, like weddings, are sought after by bands.  Please recommend us to your friends and/or family who may be in need of some great live entertainment.

One of our very favorite places to play, The Oak Club near Pettibone, closed and we've got several holes in the schedule.  Bo's Barn is going strong at its new Temple location.  We've made lots of friends at the Sul Ross Dance Club and Whiskey River in Waco, Pooh's Pair-A-Dice in Malone and the Oscar Store in Temple.  You're all cordially invited to come see us at these fine entertainment establishments.  Lastly, we have just booked our first job on Friday, June 1st at the Old Coupland Inn & Dancehall.  It is located just a few miles south of Taylor.  We'd love to see some of you there!

Monday - January 9, 2012
Well, we made another year together.  A little older, a little wiser . . . a little fehver!!  (You'll have to ask one of the band members what that means!)  Thanks for taking time out of your own busy schedules (especially around the holidays) to help us get to do what we love to do.

We had a great time ringin' in the New Year at the Melody Ranch in Waco.  To all that showed up that night, we can only hope you had as much fun as we did!  A special thanks to our buddies,
35 South
, for including us in what turned out to be one of our best New Year's Eve gigs in a long time.  Go hear these guys (and Megan!), preferably when we're not playing. They know how to rock the house.

Speaking of playing . . . we look forward to seeing all of our friends and fans in the coming months at:  Bo's Barn, Whiskey River, Sul Ross Dance Club and the Hog Creek Icehouse, among other places.  We are making our return to the legendary London Dance Hall this weekend.  We haven't played there in a while, but look forward to a big time in London.  Y'all come see us!
